Runners, walkers and bikers are invited to check out the races scheduled to take place along the beautiful Crystal Coast of North Carolina. Even though we have attempted to present the most accurate race schedule possible, it is recommended that you contact the race officials to validate this information. If you find an error or would like to have your race listed, please contact newstimes@aol.com.
Beach Runs : Start in April . For $2 a race, anyone interested in competing can select from 1-mile, 5K and 10K races. There are seven events held throughout the spring and summer, and to be eligible for awards and T-shirts, a participant must compete in at least four.
Registration for all races begins these days at 5:30 p.m. on the main beach access at Atlantic Beach. The 1-mile starts at 6:30 p.m. and the 5K and 10K around 6:45.

Nelson Bay Challenge Sprint Triathlon - Sea Level, NC. The 18th annual Nelson Bay Challenge Sprint Triathlon is set to take place Saturday, May 6. The race will begin at noon at the Sea Level Rescue Squad building, which is about 30 miles east of Morehead City.
